The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported that a 17-year-old boy had died days after an accident in Garvin County. He was the third person to die in the accident.
Not long before 9:30 a.m., an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report says a 2024 Nissan Altima and a 2021 Nissan Titan crashed on State Highway 29 near U.S. Highway 177, which is about 10 miles east of Wynnewood.
Police say the driver of the Altima didn’t yield at a stop sign, so the Titan hit him.
Friday, it was said that two teens were dead. Names have been given to them: Malakye Miles, 14, and Brook Lynn Faith Dooley, 15.
“This is a heartbreaking situation,” OHP Lt. Mark Southall said on Monday. “At this point, two juveniles have lost their lives, really, to one or two bad decisions that, if done differently, this wouldn’t have happened.”
A 17-year-old driver and a 17-year-old passenger were both taken to a nearby hospital. The Wynnewood passenger, 17, was taken to the hospital in serious condition, and the driver was treated and sent home.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol told KOCO 5 on Wednesday that the hitchhiker, who was 17 years old, had died. No information has been made public about the teen.
Nearby residents say that too many accidents happen there and that “nobody seems to be doing nothing.”
