18-Year-Old Wyoming Resident Killed, 3 Injured in Elk-Related Crash

An 18-year-old lady from Wyoming was murdered and three other people were injured early on Monday morning, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol. The accident occurred when the automobile they were traveling in collided with two elk and rolled over.

At approximately 5:15 in the morning, it took place at milepost 15.2 on Wyoming 487 in Carbon County, which is located north of Medicine Bow.

A fatality collision summary states that the four individuals were traveling in a Toyota Avalon in the direction of the north when the driver collided with an elk that was present in the roadway.

“The vehicle exited to the right and started a passenger-side leading skid,” according to the summary information. “It then struck a second elk and then rolled before coming to an uncontrolled stop on its roof.”

Unfortunately, Sammantha Brooks, who was not wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident, did not survive her injuries sustained in the accident.

In addition to the driver, the other two passengers and the driver were reportedly hurt in the collision; however, the Patrol did not specify the severity of their injuries.
