A youngster of two years old was struck by two cars in Strawberry Mansion on Thursday night, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. His status is currently considered to be stable.
According to Chief Inspector Scott Small, the injury sustained by the youngster, which includes scrapes and bruises on his face and head, is stable at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
It was at the intersection of 33rd Street and Susquehanna Avenue that the boy stepped into the street, according to Small. The mother of the child and other members of the family were getting ready to put him in a car at that time. Then, according to Small, he was struck by two vehicles that were travelling south on 33rd Street. The vehicles were a blue SUV and a white pickup truck. The two drivers did not stay at the scene.
The young youngster is “extremely fortunate” that his injuries are not more severe, according to Small.
For the purpose of assisting with their investigation, the police will review the footage from a few private surveillance cameras that are located close to the crossing, according to Small.
