3 and 5-Year-Old Girls Found Dead After Boat Capsizes in Henderson County Texas

Three and five-year-old girls were killed when the boat they were on capsized on a lake in Texas, leaving them trapped underneath. The boat was carrying the girls.

An accident that occurred on Cedar Creek Lake on Sunday night involved a boat that was carrying a group of twelve people, according to the Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse.

“There was no longer any power in the boat. “It was overloaded, and it sank,” Hillhouse shared with the audience.

Although the adults on the boat were able to swim to shore after jumping into the water, the sheriff reports that two young girls, ages three and five, were unable to survive.

According to Hillhouse, “They were wearing life vests, but they were actually trapped under the boat when it was sinking, and they were unable to escape.”

At approximately eight o’clock in the evening, the incident took place. It was 9:30 p.m. when the first responders arrived at the scene after receiving the call for assistance.

“The number of calls that we receive on Cedar Creek Lake increases,” Hillhouse said. “There are a lot of rental properties that people use to come for vacation; there are a lot of people who have lake houses and lakefront property to get away and come down here,” said the person.

Section 2 of the Justice of the Peace According to Jamie Fawns, alcohol was not a contributing factor in the collapse of the boat. He commanded that the girls undergo complete autopsies.

In light of the fact that Texas Game Wardens are leading the investigation, Hillhouse advises individuals who are on boats to continue monitoring the safety of their vessels.

According to Hillhouse, “The Cedar Creek Lake has the potential to become very rough.” Be sure to keep an eye on the waves and the weather. When the water becomes rough, it is best to get out of the water as soon as possible. Things can go wrong at any time.
