On Monday, a pickup vehicle and a golf cart were involved in a collision that resulted in the death of a woman who was 57 years old.

According to a post made by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, deputies from Knox County responded to a collision involving multiple vehicles that occurred at the intersection of Main Street and Third Street in Bicknell, Indiana, at approximately 8:47 in the morning.

When the deputies arrived, they found the golf cart parked in the middle of the intersection, and they also found a woman lying on the ground nearby, conscious and alert. Anissa Everett, who is 57 years old, was determined to be the woman in question. After then, Everett was taken to the hospital by ambulance following the incident.

In addition, the post continues by noting that the pickup vehicle was driven by a juvenile who was 17 years old and who claimed that they were the first ones to pass through the crossing. Everett went through the intersection after them. According to reports, the incident occurred at modest speeds, and neither the driver nor the car sustained any damage that could be considered noteworthy.

As stated in the post, Everett’s condition continued to deteriorate even after she arrived at the hospital because of her illness. A short while later, she passed away after becoming unresponsive. The cause of death was determined to be internal injuries sustained in the collision, however the autopsy that was performed on Tuesday revealed that the cause of death was unintentional.

In light of the fact that golf carts do not come equipped with seatbelts or other safety features, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office would like to bring to the attention of the general public the fact that golf carts are not intended to be driven on public roads.
