6 People Hurt in Grayslake Crash, 12-Year-Old Among the Injured

An accident involving two vehicles occurred on Sunday afternoon in the far north Chicago suburb of Grayslake, and it resulted in the injuries of six individuals.

There was a collision that occurred close to Peterson and Midlothian roads at 3:24 p.m., and the Grayslake police and fire departments were summoned to the scene. According to the reporting of the police, a 2025 Chevrolet Corvette was travelling west on Peterson Road and making a left turn when it collided with a 2020 GMC sport-utility vehicle that was travelling east.

According to the Grayslake police department, the SUV flipped over, and a child of twelve years old was thrown from the back seat.

In addition to the two vehicles, the fire brigade said that there were three more individuals who needed to be rescued.

In order to rescue the patients, the fire department reported that the crews laboured for a quarter of an hour.

The fire brigade said that five individuals had their conditions stabilised, while the sixth one was in serious condition. Each and every one of the wounded was transported to the Advocate Condell Medical Centre located in Libertyville.

It was necessary to transport the child, who was 12 years old, to Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago because of the severity of the injuries that the child sustained.

As Grayslake police were conducting their investigation into the collision, the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team provided assistance.

As a consequence of the collision, a portion of Peterson Road was closed to traffic.
