8-Year-Old Dies in Lake Tubing Crash, Community’s Prayers Are With the Family

The death of a toddler has been reported in Florida, where first responders have reported that an accident involving tubing occurred earlier this week.

An accident involving a personal watercraft occurred on Tuesday afternoon near the boundary between Putnam and Alachua counties, as reported by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. Rescue workers were dispatched to Star Lake to investigate the mishap.

According to the authorities, three children were on a tube that was being pulled by a Sea-Doo jet ski when the jet ski collided with a wharf. Subsequently, the children, who were between the ages of 8 and 10, were pushed from it.

There has been no public identification of the victims by the authorities. According to the residents, the child who was involved, who was eight years old, passed away, and the other two children were rushed to the hospital.

It has been reported by officials from Putnam County that one of the children did not survive having sustained injuries.

The death of a small child like that is heartbreaking, as stated by a local neighbour named Rusty Lisk. “My prayers are with them, and I’m sorry to hear that children were hurt just having fun on a lake enjoying their day,” he added.

When the authorities arrived, they were unable to instantly determine who was operating the jet ski. When the collision took place, the children were reportedly enjoying a visit with their grandparents at a lake cottage, according to the neighbours.

resident Steven Gabbard stated that this is the first time in twenty years that something similar has occurred at the lake.

For the purpose of providing financial assistance to the family, loved ones have since established a GoFundMe page.

Currently, the investigation is being led by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission.
