New Mexico – In a horrifying event that took place in New Mexico, a young girl of eight years old was viciously beaten inside of a packed restaurant by a man named N. Souci, who is 24 years old. Souci claimed that he attacked the child merely because the child was in his way. As a result of the vicious and unjustified assault, the young girl, who had been spending time with her family, was left with critical injuries and was taken to the hospital.
A grand jury has indicted Souci on many felony charges, including mistreatment of a child that resulted in serious bodily damage, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. These accusations are among the many that have been brought brought against Souci. The charges are a result of a horrific incident that took place, toward the end of the previous month, at a restaurant that is both popular and bustling. The District Attorney’s Office stated that the young girl had been “looking at a waterfall” feature inside the restaurant when Souci approached her from behind. This information was provided by the establishment. After hitting her in the head with a bottle, he proceeded to use the sharp remnants of the bottle to stab and slice her neck. This violent behavior occurred all of a sudden and was completely unexplained. The girl wounds were so severe that she required 19 stitches to be surgically repaired. According to the authorities, the youngster and Souci were total strangers, and there was no history of any kind of conflict or connection between the two of them.
B. Rose, the girl’s father, shared his account of the terrible occurrences with other members of the local media. He added that he and his family had gone to the restaurant for a meal, but that they anticipated having to wait because the establishment was seeing a high volume of customers. During the time that they were waiting, his wife and daughter strolled around the restaurant, taking in the many murals and décor. “At that moment, I heard my wife yelling, ‘No, no, stop,’ from the opposite side of the restaurant,” Rose said afterwards. “At that moment, I became aware that something was going on about my family.”
When Rose arrived at his daughter’s location, he discovered that she was drenched in water and clearly injured. In her statement, she mentioned that a man had struck her with a bottle. In the records filed with the court, it is revealed that once the bottle was broken, Souci resumed his assault by stabbing and slicing the youngster with the broken glass fragments. The chilling excuse that was revealed in the court filings was that “He said he did it because she got in his way.” This statement caused both the community and the prosecutors to be furious.
Following the assault, Rose stated that Souci was not yet finished. At that very moment, he recounted the guy rising to his feet and drawing another weapon from his pocket. When Rose recalled the event, she said, “At first, I probably thought he was going to use [the knife] against me.” In a short amount of time, however, I was able to discern that his objective had shifted, and he then turned his attention back to my daughter. Consequently, I was determined to ensure that I was able to step in between him and her. The prompt action taken by the father might have served to avert an even more severe disaster.
S. Bregman, the District Attorney, voiced his profound worry regarding the nature of the assault and stressed the seriousness of the allegations that Souci is currently currently facing. The defendant was charged with aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, and first-degree child abuse. The indictment was filed against the accused.
