Four Hospitalized After Crash Between Train and Car on Indianapolis South Side

INDIANAPOLIS — An accident that occurred on the south side of Indianapolis on Thursday afternoon and included a train and an automobile is being investigated by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

A collision took place on May 29 at approximately two o’clock in the afternoon in the 1900 block of East Banta Road, close to Madison Avenue.

The Louisville and Indiana Railroad train and a black automobile were involved in the collision, according to a representative for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

At the time of the collision, there were five persons in the vehicle, as stated by the spokeswoman for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. The driver was examined by medical personnel at the site, according to the police, while the four passengers were transferred to hospitals by medical personnel after they reported experiencing pain and minor injuries. It has been stated that all of their conditions are “stable” and that they are “awake and breathing.”
