THE EAST POINT, Michigan– An animal rescue organization in the area is currently caring for a young kitten together with his siblings, all of whom are just a few days old.
They have been abandoned, and they could use your assistance right now, according to Officer Ashley Sanchez of Eastpointe Animal Control Organisation.
“To abandon animals this young that require so much care, they can’t defend themselves they can’t do anything, they would have died,” according to the veterinarian.
On Wednesday morning, a woman can be seen on video pounding on a door at the Eastland Motel, which is located in Eastpointe.
It would appear that no one is aware of her identity; however, she did leave five kittens behind.
“We’re uncertain if she thought she knew where she was dropping them off at, or what happened,” Sanchez explained to reporters. “But we’re concerned because mum is also not with them.”
At that moment, Eastpointe Animal Control was contacted for assistance. They were in a hurry to locate a rescue organisation that had a mother cat who could breastfeed these young cats.
The call was answered by a Rejoicing Animal Rescue organisation located in Clinton Township.
“But because that mum is nursing other kittens they are having to constantly fight,” according to the veterinarian. “So we have to supplement them with a foster who is taking care of them.”
Although there is still a chance that the kittens may survive, it is hardly a hundred percent.
In the opinion of Officer Sanchez, this constitutes a criminal act, and it occurs far too frequently. So far this month, she has worked on at least five instances, and one of them involves a dog named Duke who is fourteen years old.
“This needs to end, abandonment isn’t something anybody should be taking lightly,” she remarked in response. It’s not appropriate. You are not being fair to him. And the fact that he was just 14 years old. This is not something that he deserves; in fact, no animal deserves it.
The woman who abandoned the kittens at the Eastland Motel remains captured on a video still.
Calling for assistance is the recommendation that she makes in the event that you are having difficulty finding a new home for an animal.
“Call as many rescues and animal control agencies, whatever it takes,” she advised the audience. “Put a Facebook post out there and let them know your situation.”
In order to provide animals, such as those kittens, with a place to live and a chance at survival, somebody will lend a hand.
Call Eastpointe Animal Control at the number (586) 445-5100 if you have any information regarding the whereabouts of their mother or the person who brought them to the shelter.
