A Harrowing Discovery and Investigation
On November 10, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital staff noticed the infant’s “altered mental status” and multiple physical signs of trauma, including blood seeping from her right eye and bruising. The child was immediately admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), where she was placed on a ventilator and heavily sedated to aid recovery.
The mother returned home from work and found the baby lethargic and unresponsive, with bruises and abrasions. She also discovered Greger asleep beside the child, wearing a blood- and vomit-stained hooded sweatshirt.
Police executed a search warrant at the home on Woodville Pike, finding bloodstains throughout the room and the infant’s blood-stained clothing in the washing machine, which the mother confirmed was what her daughter wore the night before.
Charges and Legal Proceedings
- Amanda L. Greger has been charged with two counts of endangering a child and one count of tampering with evidence.
- She appeared in court for a bond hearing and was ordered to remain in custody with a $500,000 cash bond set.
