After a big house explosion was seen on camera, the authorities in Missouri are seeking to discover the identity of the individual who passed away as a result of the explosion.
Saturday morning, a neighbourhood just outside of Kansas City was shaken by what was described as “a powerful explosion” that occurred at a single-family property. The explosion resulted in the death of one person and one dog.
A neighbouring house was extensively damaged, neighbouring car windows were shattered, and debris was sent flying across the street, according to Gladstone Fire Chief Mike Desautels, who spoke with Fox News Digital about the event that occurred in the municipality of Gladstone.
At the site, Desautels said that a body that was “unrecognisable” was discovered. The identify of the person who passed away has not been disclosed as of yet.
“A powerful explosion occurred earlier today at a single-family residence,” the city of Gladstone stated in a press release on Saturday. “The explosion occurred earlier today.”
It has been stated by the city that the inquiry into the cause of the explosion can continue.
According to the local government, the Gladstone Fire Department arrived at the location in a timely manner.
Upon arrival, firemen discovered the house to be “completely destroyed,” and the city said that houses in the surrounding area were also evacuated as a precautionary measure. As soon as they arrived around noon, emergency crews began fighting the flames that were still present.
According to Desautels, the explosion caused a shockwave that was felt across various towns. He also mentioned that hundreds of reports were filed outside of the municipal limits after the occurrence.
The moment that debris from the terrible explosion slammed against their home and automobile was captured on video by a Ring camera belonging to a neighbour.
Residents in the surrounding area also witnessed a large smoke cloud emerging from the forest.
“We just went down to the scene and hugged a couple of family members down there,” said Glenn Hall, a community member who lives nearby, in an interview with Fox News Digital.
A screenshot that was supplied by Hall provides evidence that residents were informed about the city’s plans to demolish the remaining property through a voicemail that was sent out by the city.
“Please take note that this is an urgent message,” the voicemail stated. “As soon as the scene is released by the authorities, the city of Gladstone will immediately begin demolition of the property as well as clean up the neighbourhood.”
At this moment, the location has been secured, and it is safe to be there.
