15-Year-Old Student Killed, 5 Injured in Tragic SUV Crash at Los Angeles School

Los Angeles, California – A student was struck by a vehicle and tragically lost their life in the parking lot of a private school in the San Fernando Valley. The incident occurred when the student was outside of the school. In addition, the authorities confirmed that at least five additional people had incurred injuries after the incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon.

Campbell Hall, which is located at 4533 Laurel Canyon Boulevard in Studio City, was visited by emergency personnel from the Los Angeles Fire Department shortly after 3 o’clock in the afternoon, as stated in a statement released by officials from the fire department.

At the end of the school day, during pick-up at the back of the campus, the Los Angeles Police Department reported that an incident occurred. According to the report, the driver of a green 2025 Rivian SUV allegedly hit a 15-year-old boy who was walking between vehicles. The event took place at the back of the campus.

A smaller, white SUV and a Rivian were involved in the collision, and the authorities reported that the youngster was trapped and may have been crushed between the two vehicles. He was taken to the hospital by paramedics from the Los Angeles Fire Department, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. His father, who was unscathed, was also taken there.

There are suspicions that the driver of the Rivian may have mistakenly pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal, which would have resulted in a succession of disastrous occurrences. This is because the rates at which student pick-ups are performed are slow. The authorities have not yet confirmed the accuracy of the information.

Additionally, two students and three adults were injured during the incident, as stated by officials from the fire department in a recent update. Both “unspecified” and “non-life threatening” have been used to describe their illnesses.

Family members and witnesses who were there at the scene were going to receive emotional support and assistance with recovery from the crisis team that was on its way to provide aid.

A statement was released on X by the Supervisor of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Lindsey P. Horvath, who represents Studio City.

I want to express my deepest sympathies to everyone in the Campbell Hall community during this difficult time.

The Head of School, Reverend Canon Julian P. Bull, conveyed his and the other administrators at the private Episcopalian institution’s deepest condolences to the parents of the pupils who attend the school. The statement was directed to the parents of the students.

When asked about the family, he stated, “Our hearts and thoughts are with them.” Through the difficult days and weeks that lie ahead, I am confident that the Campbell Hall community will be there for each and every one of them. As the family works through the enormous loss they have suffered, we ask that you respect their right to privacy.

Additional information that was sent in the email was that there will be no courses or final exams on Thursday. Counsellors will be available from ten in the morning until twelve in the afternoon at the Garver Gym, which is where members of the school community were encouraged to congregate.

In addition, there is no information available regarding the age or gender of the driver of the SUV, and there is no indication as to whether or not the accident was caused by speed or narcotics. The authorities have not yet disclosed whether or not the driver of the Rivian vehicles was taken into custody or whether or not they may face potential legal ramifications.
