A minibike that was being driven by a guy who was 46 years old was involved in a collision with a utility pole in Pontiac, Michigan, on Saturday afternoon, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Approximately 1:30 p.m. was the time when the collision took place in the vicinity of North Cass Avenue and Cesar East Chavez Avenue.
During the incident, the minibike went off the road and collided with the pole, according to the sheriff’s office. The man, who was later identified as Terrance Dale Fulgenzi from White Lake Township, Michigan, was operating the vehicle. Due to the force of the collision, Fulgenzi was ejected from the motorcycle they were riding. He was rushed to the hospital, but he did not survive his stay there.
The sheriff’s office said that Fulgenzi was not wearing a helmet, and that his minibike was not permitted to be on the road in accordance with the law.
Fulgenzi and six other individuals who were driving minibikes were reportedly weaving in and out of traffic, according to witnesses who spoke with deputies.
A crash reconstruction unit from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office is currently conducting an investigation into the occurrence.
