Officers approached a male who was parked in front of the Goodwill bookshop on University Avenue at approximately 4:15 p.m., which is when the incident started.
Instead of collaborating with the authorities, the driver ran away, sparking a pursuit that took the officers all over the city.
The pursuit came to a stop when the vehicle collided with a tree close to the intersection of 7th Street and State Street.
According to the police, the driver was identified as Cory Erks, who is 27 years old. According to the authorities, Erks is currently being charged with various offences, including eluding, dangerous driving, and several traffic offences with multiple violations.
