Rockford, IL – Elderly Man Dies in Tragic Riverside Blvd. Accident on Sunday

Sunday afternoon on Riverside Boulevard, a collision resulted in the death of a Rockford man who was 70 years old.

The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office reports that Kevin Barbour was struck by a vehicle traveling in the other direction at around 1:35 p.m. when he was engaged in the process of making a left turn onto Pebble Creek Trail from Riverside.

As soon as the authorities got at the site, they discovered that Barbour was unresponsive.

At 12:39 p.m., that is when he was pronounced dead at a hospital.

According to the findings of the coroner’s office, Barbour died as a result of multiple blunt traumas caused by the collision.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing, and there have been no charges brought forward as of yet.
