According to the police, a house invasion robbery that took place early on Thursday morning in Wynwood resulted in the shooting of two individuals and the whipping of a third. It is reported by Briana Nespral.
Lisbeth Urbina, a resident, was the one who heard the gunshots going off.
““I was pretty much awake around the time that it happened so to me it was incredibly alarming, it was like a first-hand experience,” she explained to me.
It was observed that narcotics detectives, some of whom were operating undercover, searched the apartment and emerged with bags containing items that seemed to be product.
In order to enter the building, residents have stated that they are required to have security codes, and they do not believe that it was a random house invasion.
“It has to be more than just, it had to be more that just an armed robbery, like they had to have a deeper connection,” Urbina explained to reporters.
Some residents have expressed dissatisfaction with the level of security at the Highley House, despite the fact that it has only been open for approximately seven months. Residents received a letter from management informing them that there would be increased security measures.
Salvatore Mazzola, a neighbor, stated that it was sufficient to cause him to speculate about moving.
That it took place within my building is a really unfortunate development. There is a brand new structure here. “I couldn’t contain my excitement about moving in,” he remarked. “It does not give me a sense of security. Because of this, I have the impression that I ought to be leaving this building even more quickly than I had originally planned.
According to Neighbor Legend Tarver, the reverse is true.
He stated, “The neighborhood is quite pleasant.” “I’ve been living [in Wynwood] for… the past seven years and a lot has changed, but as far as safety goes, not much goes on here besides people coming here at night and you know, partying at the bars and whatnot.”
