Halifax Driver Flown to Hospital, 12-Year-Old Seriously Injured in Head-On Collision

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, a driver who was unable to stop for slowing traffic caused a head-on collision with another car, which resulted in the serious injuries of two individuals, one of whom was a little kid of twelve years old.

Around 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, there was a collision involving three vehicles that took place in the 200 block of South River Road in Halifax.

The Halifax guy, who was 26 years old at the time, was driving north at high speeds when he approached slow-moving traffic and was unable to come to a halt in time, according to the troopers.

According to the report of the accident, he made a left turn and collided with a car on the side before smashing head-on into a truck that was traveling in the other direction of traffic.

Because of the collision, the driver, who was 26 years old at the time, was unable to escape his vehicle. Once the rescue personnel were able to extricate him, he was sent to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for treatment of his severe injuries.

EMS personnel transported a youngster who was inside the truck that was hit head-on and was 12 years old to the hospital. According to the troopers, the boy is believed to have suffered serious injuries.

While the truck driver was taken to the hospital for treatment of suspected injuries, the driver who was sideswiped did not sustain any injuries.

According to a crash report filed by the state police, the guy from Halifax was issued a citation for careless driving resulting in serious bodily injury.
