A 7-year-old girl who had epilepsy and other health problems drowned in a pool on Saturday.
Around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, deputies from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office (VCSO) were called to a home in Deltona’s Harding Circle. When deputies got there, they found the adoptive mother of the 7-year-old girl. She told detectives that she told her daughter to get out of the pool because her lips were about to turn blue.
The mother told the police that her daughter was about to have a seizure when her lips started to turn blue. The mom told the kid to get out of the pool and then told the girl to sit on the couch outside while she took care of her other kid inside.
After some time, the child was found at the deep end of the pool, at the bottom.
According to the deputies, the girl’s family pulled her out of the pool and started CPR until police arrived.
A doctor at Advent Health Orange City said the girl was dead.
The girl, 7, almost drowned, which is very close to two other drownings in Martin County.
