Florida Man Breaks Into Stranger's Home, Takes Bath and Cooks Dinner to Escape Angry Wife

Officials say a man in Florida broke into a random house and stayed there for a few days so he wouldn’t have to go home to an angry wife after a fight.

They were called to the Davenport home by a neighbor who was supposed to watch over it while the owner was away and saw a lot of strange activity on June 9, according to a news release from the department.

Cops found a 44-year-old man named Joe cooking himself dinner and taking a long, luxurious bath when they walked in.

Polk County officials joked, referring to the story “Goldilocks and the Three Bears,” “We assume the bath temperature was not too hot, nor too cold, but just right.”

The news release said that Joe told police that he wasn’t supposed to be there and didn’t know who owned the house.

The 44-year-old man explained his crime by saying that he broke into the random house four days earlier to avoid going home and getting in trouble with his wife.

According to the Miami Herald, Joe was charged with felony unarmed burglary, misdemeanor petit theft, and domestic battery, even though he had a good reason.
