Texas DPS Releases Identity of Victim in Fatal Head-on Collision Near Groesbeck

The Department of Public Safety in Texas said that Dawson Chandler, 22, from Conroe, Texas, was declared deceased at the scene of a collision that included a tractor trailer and a pickup truck.

There was a fatal collision that occurred on State Highway 164 near County Road 396, west of Groesbeck, at approximately three in the morning on June 20.

Both westbound traffic from State Highway 14 to United States Route 84 and eastbound traffic from FM-1245 to US-84 were redirected.

According to the authorities, the roadway has been reopened after the collision that occurred on Friday at approximately 11:30 a.m.

According to the findings of an initial inquiry, a Chevrolet Silverado travelling in the eastward direction moved onto the incorrect side of the route, causing it to collide with a truck tractor semi-trailer.

As a result of the collision, Chandler, who was 22 years old and the driver of the Chevrolet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the tractor sustained injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening and was taken to Baylor Scott & White Medical Centre in Waco and treated there.

An active and ongoing inquiry is still being conducted.
