ELBERTON, Ga. – An accident involving a single vehicle that occurred on Athens Highway in Elbert County on Thursday evening resulted in the tragic death of a child who was only one year old. Athens Highway is located in Elbert County. The deceased individual, who has been named as Percy Silas Kimbrough, was a resident at an address located on Athens Highway. The young boy was pronounced dead at the site, despite the fact that emergency workers responded very quickly to the situation.
It was approximately 5:52 p.m. on June 19 when the accident took place. Immediately in reaction, a coordinated team of local first responders, including personnel from E911, EMS, the Elbert County Fire Department, and the Elbert County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the Georgia State Patrol and the Coroner’s Office, came to the scene in order to provide assistance and conduct an investigation.
Chuck Almond, the coroner for Elbert County, has confirmed the identification of the kid and has extended his most heartfelt condolences to the family who is sorrowing over their loss. “Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Baby Percy,” Almond stated in a statement that was filled with profound emotion. The passing of a kid is a tragedy of exceptional magnitude that affects the emotions of every single member of the community.
The Georgia State Patrol is in charge of conducting the investigation into the cause of the accident. They are working to gather information and figure out what led to this unfortunate tragedy. Even though the authorities have not yet disclosed any additional information regarding the circumstances that led up to the collision, they are working hard to put together the pieces of the puzzle that have been put together.
