Following a shooting in the stomach that occurred late on Saturday night, a youngster who was 16 years old was taken to the hospital.
Peoria Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene shortly before 10:40 o’clock at night. According to Semone Roth, a spokesperson for the police department, officers responded to the 3100 block of West Timberedge Drive on Saturday, June 28, after receiving a complaint that a person had been shot.
cops were informed that a 16-year-old girl had been transported to a nearby hospital by a private vehicle with what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the stomach, she said. This information was received while cops were on their way to the location.
The vehicle that was transporting the adolescent was stopped by law enforcement on West War Memorial Drive, which is located just east of the intersection with West Charter Oak Road. The adolescent was placed in an ambulance and sent to the hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.
She stated that the police proceeded to the spot where the rounds were purportedly fired and discovered proof of the shooting that had taken place.
At this time, Roth stated that there is no information available regarding a prospective suspect.
