The death of a young child occurred on Thursday in Kaufman, according to the police, at the hands of a family member who accidentally ran over the infant.
East Hickory Street, in the 400 block, was the location where the incident took place.
Family members reportedly transported the infant to Texas Health Kaufman Hospital prior to the arrival of emergency personnel, as stated by the Kaufman Police Department. It was determined that the infant had passed away in the emergency room of the hospital.
During the time that authorities were securing the area, additional officers and detectives arrived at the hospital to begin their investigation.
It has been stated by the authorities that they are currently collecting evidence, and the circumstances surrounding the occurrence are still being actively investigated.
