Authorities Investigate Hit-and-Run Collision in Dana Point Leaving Pedestrian Seriously Injured

The authorities are looking for a driver who hit a pedestrian and then fled the scene after the incident, which occurred in Dana Point last week and left the pedestrian in critical condition.

As stated by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the incident took place on Friday, June 27 at approximately ten minutes after ten o’clock in the evening, close to the intersection of La Cresta Drive and Silver Lantern Street.

The victim, an adult male in his forties, was discovered by deputies who had been dispatched to the area of the incident. He was taken to a nearby hospital in an emergency situation, and it is reported that he is currently in critical condition.

During the time of the collision, they believe that the suspect was operating a sedan of a light color, more specifically silver or beige. As far as the deputies are concerned, it is highly probable that the rear passenger side has sustained damage.

“A vehicle was observed near the collision site, and it is believed that the occupant(s) might have additional information about the incident,” according to the OCSD’s official announcement.

Detectives are requesting that anyone who has additional information get in touch with them at (949) 425-1860.
