The bodies of two brothers, both in their sixties, were discovered in an overturned pickup truck off State Route 166 in Santa Barbara County last week, according to friends and family. The men had been reported missing earlier this month.
James Fuller, 61, and Eric Fuller, 60, were identified as missing by a friend a few days after they left for a doctor’s appointment in Santa Maria on June 6. The appointment was scheduled to take place on June 6.
On June 18, officers from the California Highway Patrol were sent out to search for the guys who had gone missing along the highway; however, they were unable to locate them at the time of their search.
According to a press release, it wasn’t until the 26th of June that a worker for the California Department of Transportation discovered a 1998 GMC Sierra pickup truck that had flipped over on an embankment and was concealed in dense brush off Highway 166 at Old Sierra Madre Road, which is located east of Santa Maria.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is still awaiting the results of DNA tests in order to make an official identification of the two men who were found dead inside the truck. Meanwhile, the brothers’ family has confirmed their deaths through a GoFundMe page.
The hunt lasted for a total of twenty-one exhausting days. In the message, the family stated that they had “hiked as much as we could and followed every lead.” There are no adequate words to describe how painful the wait, the helplessness, and the suffering have been. There was not a single one of us who prayed for this particular outcome. All of our hearts are shattered.
Nobody was able to provide any information regarding the precise reason for the collision.
