Fire officials in Burlington, Massachusetts, have stated that two persons were injured at a residence on Tuesday night as a result of what may have been a lightning strike.
The Burlington Fire Department reports that the incident that occurred at a residence on Cutting Lane at approximately 8:13 p.m. resulted in the inhalation of smoke by a woman and the burning of a man within the residence.
It was reported by the department that firefighters saw smoke coming from a side of the house and its garage, but there were no fires. Additionally, they discovered an irrigation system control pad that may have been struck by lightning.
According to the officials, the only damage that occurred was the framing of the garage window, which was scorched, as well as damage to the wires. However, the electricity was shut off to the house.
It was not immediately possible to obtain information regarding the health of the two individuals who had been transported to a nearby hospital late on Tuesday.
