The driver who was killed in a collision involving two vehicles that occurred on Tuesday afternoon southeast of Yorkville has been identified by the Kendall County Coroner’s Office.
At approximately 4:30 p.m., a collision occurred at the intersection of Route 126 and Grove Road, which resulted in the death of Violet Jensen, who was 20 years old and from Oswego. At the conclusion of the investigation, the coroner’s office determined that Jensen’s death was due to multiple blunt force injuries that he sustained in the collision.
The officials from the Illinois State Police (ISP) have stated that Jensen was driving a Kia Spectra in the direction of southbound Grove Road when it failed to stop at the stop sign located at Route 126. At the intersection, a Chevrolet Impala traveling in the westbound direction collided with the Kia. The medical examiner pronounced Jensen dead at the scene.
As a result of the investigation being conducted by ISP, the intersection was shut down for approximately four hours after the collision. Controlling traffic was made easier with the assistance of the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.
