Crude Oil Tensions Ease, Driving Texas Pump Prices to Lowest July Level in Four Years

According to the United States Energy Information Administration, the price of ordinary fuel in the state of California dropped to an average of $2.73 per gallon on June 30, 2016, from a price of $2.86 per gallon the previous week. This represents a decrease from the previous week’s price.

Since the beginning of the previous month, the average price of fuel in the state has increased by almost four cents. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) reports that the price of gasoline in the state has ranged from a low of $2.51 on December 16, 2024 to a high of $3.11 on July 29, 2024 during the course of the past year.

In Texas, the average price of a gallon of gas was $3.03 a year ago, which was a 10% increase from the previous year.

Last week, the average price of gasoline in the United States was $3.16, which means that the costs in the state are approximately 13.8% lower than the average price across the nation. This week’s national average price of $3.21 per gallon is lower than the average price of $3.21 per gallon found last week.
