‘Coward Stuff’: South Philly Shooting Leaves 3 Dead, 10 Injured in Random Gunfire

At least three people have been killed and 10 others have been injured as a result of a shooting incident that occurred early on Monday morning in South Philadelphia. According to the authorities, the gunman had fired “randomly” throughout the area.

I’m sorry, but this is the stuff of a coward. You are aware of the size of this block, which allows you to visualize it. I’m referring to the fact that there are just people just firing into houses, into automobiles, and into children out here. This is the stuff of a coward and a wanna-be thug, if you ask me. In response to the incident that occurred overnight, Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel made the following statement.

According to Bethel, the act of violence occurred at approximately 12:56 a.m. on Monday, when “a group of individuals” engaged in a gun battle close to the intersection of Etting and Dickinson streets in South Philadelphia.

At that moment, he stated, the perpetrators of the attack fired shots at random, resulting in the deaths of at least three individuals and the injuries of ten others, including at least two children.

According to Bethel, a significant number of the patients were taken to various hospitals, and the police were still carrying out their investigation to determine the conditions of all of those who were hurt in this incident.

He stated that the incident took place at a gathering of some kind that was taking place in the community.

Bethel stated, “There was a large crowd out here,” acknowledging that he had heard that perhaps forty people may have been present in the vicinity at the time that the shooting began. “There was obviously something going on on the block,” the speaker said. It is possible to perceive that.”

According to him, the police have taken one individual into custody, but they are still working to take others into custody.

“We believe there was probably an exchange of gunfire, but who was exchanging, we will be going through that process now,” Bethel explained to reporters.

Additionally, at least four individuals were injured when gunshots broke out early on Monday morning in West Philadelphia, close to the intersection of 62nd and Vine streets. This incident occurred in conjunction with the one described above.
