Independence Man Accused of Assault Following Bar Fight and Hit-and-Run

Online court records show that a guy from Independence has been charged with hit-and-run driving that happened outside of a bar last week and sent a man to the hospital.

He was charged with first-degree attack and armed criminal action on Wednesday in Jackson County Circuit Court.

Around 2:30 a.m. on July 2, police went to Rhinestone Cowgirls, which is located at 11703 E 23rd Street. A likely cause statement says that they found a man who was not awake and bleeding from the head.

Police were told by witnesses that the guy who was found unconscious got into a verbal argument with another man, who was later identified as Fischbach. The argument got physical.

After the fight was over, Fischbach is said to have hit the man with his dark-colored Chevrolet Silverado and then driven east on 23rd Street hiding.
