The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that dog bites can hurt, hurt people, and spread germs that can make you sick. “Almost one in five people who get bitten by a dog need medical help.”

Every year, dogs bite more than 4.5 million people in the U.S., and the CDC says that almost 800,000 of those people need medical care.

  • Use a strong voice to say “no” or “go home.” Face the dog with the side of your body facing it.
