San Bernardino Police Officer Under Investigation After Slamming Teen to the Ground

An officer from the San Bernardino Police Department was seen on film earlier this week throwing a girl who was 17 years old to the ground when she was being detained because of her condition.

At least four police cruisers were seen in the 500 block of West 2nd Street in the video that was recorded on Wednesday afternoon. At the same time, one officer was seen getting ready to arrest a juvenile who was facing a cruiser. After some time has passed, the law enforcement officer lifts the teen’s rucksack from her arms and then proceeds to force her to fall face-first onto the pavement. The guy who is recording the video is seen being ordered to move away by two additional cops, one of whom is seen drawing out a baton and pointing it in the direction of the person who is recording the video.

According to Toni Jaramilla, the child’s attorney, the force that was used on the girl caused the adolescent to suffer a dislocated wrist and multiple stitches to her face. Additionally, the teen is required to receive several sutures to her face.

According to the San Bernardino Police Department, the officer who was shown pushing the youngster to the ground was attempting to place her in handcuffs at the time what happened. There was no public disclosure of the identify of the law enforcement officer who used force on the girl.

“The officer was only able to place one of her hands in cuffs when she began actively pulling away and attempting to walk off from the officer when a takedown maneuver was used,” the agency said in a statement. “The takedown maneuver was used on her so that she could be taken down.”

Officers were dispatched to the location after receiving a report of an individual who had attempted to attack others while also trespassing on the property. The circumstances that led to the detention of the adolescent are not entirely apparent.

Najee Ali, a civil rights activist, has been brought in to provide assistance for the family of the youngster, in addition to the legal representation that they have already secured.

“This is a clear-cut case of police abuse and excessive force by the San Bernardino Police Department, which has a long history of complaints of excessive force by African American victims of police brutality,” Ali said in a statement. “This is a clear-cut case of police abuse and excessive force.” We are requesting that the Attorney General of California, Rob Bonta, take the initiative to conduct an impartial investigation.

Apparently, the San Bernardino Police Department is looking into the matter.

In a statement, the department said, “Every use of force by our officers is subject to a thorough review, first by a supervisor and then through an administrative review process.” This evaluation is conducted by an administrative review procedure. “The most important question in every situation is whether or whether the use of force was appropriate, proportionate, and in accordance with the policy. This incident is not an exception, and the investigation into it is now being carried out.
