Heavy Rains Hit Kansas City Overnight, Flood Warnings Issued

Much of the Kansas City metro area is under a flash flood watch until 4:45 a.m. Thursday.

One to three inches of rain have already fallen from storms, and another half an inch to two inches could fall overnight, according to the National Weather Service.

Through the early morning, it’s still likely to rain and have a few showers here and there.

Between midnight and 7 a.m., it’s supposed to rain the most, which could make the Thursday morning drive more difficult.

Things will get better over the course of the morning.

Things will be much cooler on Thursday. Highs will be around 79 degrees.

It’s going to rain until noon, but in the afternoon it will be dry.

The high temperatures will rise into the mid-90s this weekend and could hit 100 degrees by midweek.
