Husband Accused of Murdering Wife and Leaving Kids to Discover Her Body in Fort Worth

Fort Worth, TX – A chilling case in Fort Worth has surfaced, where a man allegedly murdered his wife and left their children to find her bloody body, according to police reports. Josue Rodas, 29, was arrested and charged with murder after authorities say he killed his wife, 21-year-old Glenda Maria Aguilera Rubio, during the Labor Day weekend.

The incident occurred at a home on the 2600 block of Yeager Street, where the family had recently moved after a violent altercation. This disturbing case has raised profound concerns about domestic violence and child welfare in the community.

Sequence of Events Leading to the Tragedy

The couple, along with their two children, arrived at the residence on August 27, intending to stay briefly before relocating out of state. According to an arrest affidavit, the family moved in after a prior conflict at their original home, during which Rodas reportedly brandished a firearm at family members.

On Friday night, Rodas and Rubio were drinking at the house with another male tenant, who later went to bed around 10 to 11 p.m. A woman living at the home returned around midnight and observed the couple still drinking. She went to sleep approximately 90 minutes later.

It was at about 7 a.m. on Saturday when the children asked the woman to check on their mother after noticing blood on her. Upon checking, the woman discovered Rubio lying in the kitchen, bloodied and unresponsive. The front door was reportedly open, but Rodas and Rubio’s car—a 2013 Toyota Corolla with Mississippi plates—were missing.

Security footage showed a similar vehicle leaving the area near 4 a.m., indicating Rodas likely fled soon after the crime.

Police Response and Arrest

Fort Worth Police Department responded to the scene by 7:15 a.m., discovering Rubio had suffered an apparent gunshot wound to the head. She was pronounced dead at 7:29 a.m.

Meanwhile, Rodas had reportedly driven approximately three hours away to Sweetwater, where he called 911 to confess to the homicide. Sweetwater police detained him without incident based on his call and information shared by Fort Worth authorities.

Rodas remains held at the Tarrant County Corrections Center on a $500,000 bond, facing a murder charge. Details on his upcoming court date have not been disclosed.

Local advocates stress the importance of recognizing early signs and intervening to protect vulnerable family members.

Key facts include:

  • Rodas and Rubio moved after a violent family altercation involving a firearm.
  • The murder reportedly occurred during alcohol consumption with tenants at the home.
  • Children witnessed aftermath of the crime, creating serious psychological concerns.
  • Rodas fled but turned himself in to authorities hours later after confessing.

“Cases like this underscore the critical need for community vigilance and support systems to prevent domestic violence and protect children,” said law enforcement officials familiar with the case.
