Dania Beach, Florida – A 15-year-old boy has been charged as an adult in the shocking murder of his 23-year-old brother, whose body was found dumped along a canal in Broward County last month. Investigators say the teen confessed to the killing and claimed his sibling had “done stuff to him” in the past, though he refused to explain further.
The Fatal Shooting
According to an arrest warrant obtained by Local 10 News, the suspect, Demetre Fleurimond, admitted to waiting inside his Dania Beach home for his older brother, Kevin Dominique, on August 17. Detectives say Demetre then fired a rifle at Dominique about 15 times before dragging his body outside and placing it in the back seat of a car.
The teen allegedly drove just three minutes away, where he dumped Dominique’s body near a canal.
Discovery of the Body
Dominique was reported missing on August 18 after failing to show up for work. A day later, investigators discovered his body with multiple gunshot wounds, abrasions, and facial swelling. A Glock magazine was found in his pocket, along with his identification and a latex glove.
A neighbor reported hearing gunshots the night Dominique was last seen and recalled seeing a black Honda speeding away, investigators said.

Evidence Found in Teen’s Room
When detectives searched Demetre’s bedroom, they uncovered significant evidence linking him to the crime. According to court documents, officers found:
- A bloodstained security shirt from Dominique’s workplace
- Gloves consistent with one found near the victim’s body
- Ammunition
- Multiple firearms hidden between a mattress and box spring
Surveillance footage also reportedly showed someone abandoning Dominique’s car at the Dania Beach Library, carrying what appeared to be a gun.
Teen’s Confession
Although Demetre initially claimed the weapons belonged to a friend, he later confessed to the murder. Authorities say he apologized to his mother, admitted to cleaning up blood, collecting shell casings, and discarding evidence, and confirmed he had shot his brother.
The teen told investigators that Dominique had “done stuff to him” in the past but would not elaborate. His mother, however, later told reporters that Demetre clarified Dominique never sexually abused him, leaving the motive unclear.
Family and Friends React
Demetre’s mother, Marie Jeanty, said she believes the deadly confrontation may have started with a dispute over household chores.
“Sunday morning when I came back, I saw the kitchen tiles were clean,” she told Local 10 News. “‘I know you did it, but Kevin must’ve asked you to do it.’ I believe that made him mad.”
Friends described Dominique as someone who often took on a parental role for his younger brother.
“He said he felt like he could never be a brother to Demetre how he wanted to be because he felt like he was parenting him,” said Ariel Lobo, a longtime friend. “The only thing I’ve been thinking about is I’ll never be able to call him again.”
Court Proceedings
Demetre Fleurimond is facing one count of first-degree murder with a firearm. In his most recent court appearance in Broward County, a judge ordered him held without bond at the Paul Rein Detention Facility. He was also ordered to have no contact with any witnesses in the case.
Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing as the motive for the killing has not been determined.
