Auburn Hills Man Dies After Drive-By Shooting in Pontiac, Authorities Confirm

A drive-by shooting in Pontiac resulted in the death of a guy who was 26 years old and from Auburn Hills, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. The man was wounded many times during the shooting.

The incident reportedly took place on Friday at four o’clock in the afternoon close to the intersection of Auburn Avenue and Russell Street in Pontiac. The man in the grey vehicle reportedly fired several bullets before going west on Auburn Avenue, according to the witnesses who reported the incident to the deputies.

It was discovered by the paramedics who arrived at the site that the victim had been shot in the wrist, back, and body simultaneously. According to the authorities, the man was rushed to a nearby hospital since he had a weak pulse. Unfortunately, he lost his life as a result of his injuries.

According to the statement made by the detectives, the preliminary investigation reveals that the perpetrator fired multiple shots at the victim before continuing westbound. On the road, shot casings were discovered in multiple locations. Within hours of the shooting, the suspect, a male from Pontiac who was 32 years old, was taken into custody following a traffic check that took place in West Bloomfield Township at the intersection of Middlebelt Road and Long Lake Road.

“This senseless and cowardly act of a drive-by shooting has now destroyed multiple lives,” said Sheriff Michael Bouchard in a statement. “This act of violence has been senseless and cowardly.” Both the person who was shot and the person who committed the shooting, who should now spend the rest of his life in prison. I have a lot of pride for our team since they did an outstanding job of capturing the suspect in a matter of hours. I eagerly anticipate that the legal system will hold him completely accountable for his decisions.
