A head-on collision that occurred on Tuesday afternoon on Highway 58 in Tehachapi resulted in the death of a woman who was driving in the wrong direction.
It has been reported by the California Highway Patrol that the woman was operating a Jeep in the eastbound lanes while traveling westbound when she was involved in a collision with a pickup truck close to State Route 202.
It was determined that the woman had passed away at the scene. It was determined that the driver of the pickup truck had sustained injuries and was taken to Kern Medical.
Because of the collision, the authorities were forced to close a section of Highway 58 while emergency crews responded to the scene of the accident.
CHP Mojave is requesting that anyone who saw the collision be in touch with them so that they can provide them with information that could assist them in their investigation.
