An off-duty car accident claimed the life of a well-liked fire captain from Killeen, Texas, just a few days after the birth of his fifth child over the weekend, according to the authorities investigating the incident.
As Captain Marvin Taylor III was leaving the hospital in Austin on Mother’s Day, May 11, a tragic event occurred. The incident involved Captain Marvin Taylor III. According to a statement, Taylor was travelling to pick up his other children when “his vehicle was struck from behind.” This information was made public.
During the time that they were waiting for emergency responders, Austin police officers in the neighbourhood provided assistance to Taylor. He was, however, pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
A person was taken into custody who was the other driver. The statement that was released by the city stated that the other vehicle was moving “at a high rate of speed.”
Taylor was said to as a “selfless” and “inspiring” individual.
According to the city of Killeen, Taylor was a “highly respected and decorated member” of the department, where he had worked since 2014. He had been employed there since 2014.
According to Chief James Kubinski, who was speaking to the community in a video, “We are very fortunate to have known him for the ten years he was with the Killeen Fire Department and to have considered him a member of our family.”
As of Tuesday morning, a fundraising event that was organised for his family had raised more than sixty thousand dollars. It has $75,000 as its target amount.
“Marvin has been an inspiration to us all, and we are grateful for his selfless service to our community,” the caption wrote in its whole. In every situation, he has been there for other people, putting their requirements ahead of his own. At this time, we want to be there for him and his family with us.
The body of Taylor was brought back to the house.
On the 12th of May, it was reported that Taylor’s body was transported back to Killeen from Austin, which is the location where the event took place.
Austin is around ninety miles away from Killeen.
