In the early hours of Saturday morning, shots were fired into a pub and grill located in Berwyn, Illinois. As a result, three individuals sustained injuries.
According to the Berwyn police department, the suspect was involved in a dispute with another individual at Junior’s Bar & Grill, which is located in the 7000 block of Ogden Avenue, between the hours of 1:30 and 1:45 a.m. on Saturday. Following the departure of the two individuals from the bar, the police reported hearing bullets fired from the exterior on the sidewalk.
According to the police, three people inside the bar were struck by bullets that went through the window.
One of the neighbors made it clear that he is worried about the well-being of his family.
It should come as no surprise that security is a primary concern. Considering that my wife and I are in the process of beginning a family, that is really something that we are coming from, safety being the most important thing,” Leo Torres said.
He stated that he arrived at his residence not long before the shooting took place.
“We were up till a rather late hour that night. When we arrived, the volume was already quite high because we had just returned from a performance that had taken place in Tinley. The music was playing in the background. A little bit of a surprise. Because we have been here for a while, we are somewhat accustomed to the music.
Both the mayor of Berwyn and the neighborhood alderman were contacted, but none of them would commit.
According to Toress, the alderman was just recently elected.
“He just won the election by running on a platform that advocated for business safety, transparency, and other such issues. He said, “All those good things, but these are those moments where he should step up and try to make things better.”
At nearby hospitals, the victims received treatment for injuries that were not considered to be life-threatening. Since then, they have been made available.
The proprietor of the bar and grill stated that they were unable to provide any further information because the investigation into the incident is still underway.
However, as of Monday, there have been no arrests made.
Police from Berwyn are the ones conducting the inquiry.
