Marissa DiNapoli, who had been missing since the weekend, was reported to have been the person whose body was discovered on Wednesday evening in Morgan Hill, according to the authorities.
At 7:30 p.m., a drone operator reported discovering the body, and they informed the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office about their discovery, according to the Morgan Hill Police Department. In the search for the missing 18-year-old, the body was discovered along Dunne Avenue close to Anderson Lake. According to the police, the area was supposed to be scoured while they were looking for the missing person.
The members of DiNapoli’s family reported to the authorities that she had last interacted with them via text message on Saturday evening. Her disappearance was reported to the authorities after she failed to return to her residence or reply to calls from members of her family, according to the police.
In the most recent sighting, DiNapoli was accompanied by Martin Mendoza, who has been designated as a person of interest in the investigation. DiNapoli’s vehicle was discovered at the same time that the two were spotted leaving a property located just outside of Morgan Hill.
According to the police, Mendoza did not cooperate with the investigation, and he is currently being considered a person of interest in connection with DiNapoli’s apparent disappearance. The registration plate on his vehicle is either CW87W00 or 9PTM351, and it is thought that he is driving a white Toyota Camry.
At six o’clock on Friday evening, there was going to be a prayer service and a vigil with lighting being held at the Anderson Bridge in honour of DiNapoli. Visitors intended to set up camp at the location until the early morning hours of Saturday.
