A double shooting that took place in Brooklyn on Monday night resulted in the death of one individual and left another individual with an eye injury. The New York Police Department is conducting an investigation into the incident.
A few minutes after ten o’clock at night, the police received calls to 911 reporting shooting. Both of the victims had been shot, and their bodies were discovered outside of the apartment located at 1233 Putnam Avenue in Bushwick, which is surrounded by trees.
There was a male victim who was 39 years old and was shot in the abdomen. He was one of the casualties. A man who was 63 years old was the other person who was injured, and the police say that he sustained an eye injury.
Brookdale Hospital was the location where both victims were transported by paramedics. According to officials from the New York Police Department, the younger victim was pronounced dead at 10:47 p.m.
The condition of the 63-year-old individual was described as stable.
It has been brought to the attention of the authorities that the names of the victims are being concealed until their families are informed.
Despite the fact that ballistics were discovered at the scene, authorities stated that it was too soon to determine if the victims were innocent bystanders or the objective of a criminal act.
As of early Tuesday morning, no witnesses have come forward to provide information, as stated by the authorities, who are currently conducting an investigation into the fatal gunshot.
According to the data kept by the New York Police Department, the most recent instance of gun violence in the 83rd Precinct this year reflects the seventh shooting incident and each of the eighth and ninth victims of gunshots.
This number is significantly higher when compared to the same time period in the previous year, when there were just two people who were shot and two incidents of shooting that took place in the precinct up to June 1.
