Cedar Rapids Police Pursue Man in Dangerous High-Speed Chase with Loaded Weapon

An individual named Marcus Dejohn Wallace, who is 29 years old, was found guilty by a jury on Wednesday of one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The federal court in Cedar Rapids was the location of the trial that lasted for three days.

Wallace led police on a high-speed chase when he turned into a residential neighborhood, out of his car, and ran away from the authorities, according to the evidence that was shown during the trial.

Almost immediately after that, the police put Wallace into jail. The location where Wallace was taken into custody was within a short distance of where the police discovered a loaded gun that was missing its magazine. The magazine was discovered at a later time in the vicinity where Wallace had been running.

The distribution of heroin, which resulted in substantial physical harm, was a prior conviction for Wallace.

In anticipation of his punishment, Wallace is now being held in jail by the United States Marshal Service. It is possible that Wallace might be sentenced to a maximum of 15 years in prison, in addition to a fine of $250,000. Following his incarceration, he would be subject to three years of supervised release.
