According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, a tree branch that fell on top of park-goers in Calabasas on Wednesday resulted in the death of an eight-year-old kid and the injury of numerous other individuals.

The King Gillette Ranch, located in the 26800 block of Mulholland Highway, was the location where the event was reported at approximately 2:45 p.m.

According to the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Department, the tree branch that fell caused the death of a child camper and injured four other individuals along with the camper. Two of them were sent to the hospital with relatively minor injuries.

A small boy who was attending a summer camp at King Gillette Ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains has tragically passed away, and our hearts are broken by this news. There is no adequate way to convey the extent of our sadness. “Our hearts are with the family of the child, friends of the child, and all those who have been affected by this unimaginable tragedy,” the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority posted on its website.

It was not immediately possible to have access to the deceased person’s identify.
