Over the last 10 days, Columbia Metro Airport has had at least 93-degree highs every day.
It looks like that streak will end in the next few days, when a little cooler air comes into the area.
Tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday, the highs will be in the upper 80s and low 90s.
Because of the high humidity, the heat index is likely to reach the low 100s this afternoon.
But the humidity is supposed to go down across most of the Midlands on Wednesday, so that’s when you should be able to enjoy some pretty nice weather.
Try not to get too comfortable.
The highs will drop back to the mid to upper 90s, and the heat index will rise to the 100s by the end of the week and early next week.
When it comes to rain, it will be most common today and again on Thursday.
Some of today’s storms could bring damaging wind gusts and flash flooding to places that don’t have good drainage.
On Wednesday, storms are most likely to only hit the southern Midlands and the Lowcountry.
