During the early hours of Wednesday morning, a car entered a work zone on Interstate 64 and collided with a vehicle belonging to the Illinois Department of Transportation.
The Illinois State Police have reported that at approximately 1:54 a.m. on Wednesday, a Chrysler 300 was traveling eastbound on Interstate 64 westbound near the Washington Park/Kingshighway exit when it collided head-on with an inhabited Illinois Department of Transportation truck.
In accordance with the Illinois State Police, two individuals were transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
A crash investigation caused the westbound lanes of Interstate 64 to be closed near the exit. Since then, the road has been made available again.
