DC Authorities Searching for Armed Robbery Suspects After Stairwell Incident

Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying two people accused of assaulting and robbing a woman at gunpoint at an apartment building in Southeast over the weekend.

The robbery happened just before 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 8, in the 2400 block of Elvans Road. There, a woman reported being followed by two suspects who assaulted and robbed her at gunpoint in the building’s stairwell, according to D.C. police.

In surveillance camera footage released by police, two people are seen running down the stairs after the alleged robbery took place, carrying a purse and sneakers.

According to early reports, the woman was confronted and robbed at gunpoint by one or more suspects while inside the stairwell of a residential or commercial building. The incident occurred earlier this week in an undisclosed part of the city. The suspects reportedly fled the scene on foot, and no arrests have been made at this time.
