LANDOVER, Md.. —
Thousands of Beyoncé fans are in the DMV for her Cowboy Carter concert tour.
The Beyhive isn’t just buying concert tickets, though. DC News Now spoke to some restaurants in Prince George’s County, which said the economic impact has been fantastic for local businesses.
Eric Cooper is the director of operations for Copper Canyon restaurant in Landover. He said this past Fourth of July weekend was great for business, thanks to Beyonce and the Cowboy Carter tour.
“Each day, we see a 25 percent increase in sales just from her alone. Roughly 15 to 20 thousand extra in profit per night, and just depends. … Tonight on a Monday, more like 15,000, but we were really busy Friday night and made more like 20,000, and it was Fourth of July, ended up being a great day for us overall,” Cooper said.
It is a similar story at Longhorn Steakhouse. Manager Shabazz Small said his restaurant has been busy serving drinks and food to Beyoncé fans.
“There are lots of folks who are from out of town who are here in the area, and they are stopping at my restaurant. Everyone that comes to our restaurant is a fan of hers, and everyone is excited and happy,” Small said.
Shabazz Small and Eric Cooper say they both staffed extra workers over the weekend to make sure they had enough staff on hand for the Beyoncé fans in the DMV.
