In a hit-and-run accident that resulted in a girl, who was 15 years old, being taken to the hospital, the police made an arrest.

In addition to driving with a suspended license and having outstanding warrants, Tyrone Cochran, 32, of Rockford is charged with failing to report an accident that included bodily harm.

Alice Hunt, who was 15 years old at the time, was riding her bicycle when she was struck by a car approximately six o’clock on Friday, June 20. The collision occurred in the vicinity of North Second Street and Ethel Avenue. It was the driver of the car who sped away from the site of the accident.

Following an investigation into the incident, the traffic and intelligence departments of the Rockford Police Department identified Cochran as their suspect.

On July 2, it is anticipated that Cochran will bring his initial appearance before the court.
