Identified victims by the relevant authorities

The death of Jaqual Dayton Allen, who was 19 years old and from Irving, was confirmed at the scene. Alexandra Tyler, age 18, from Mesquite, Texas, passed away later at the hospital.

It was stated by the police that they believed the suspects were familiar with the victims at the time of the shooting. The living room was the location where both were shot multiple times, and the investigators found several shell casings at the scene of the incidents.

Witnesses heard suspects running away.

“This wasn’t just one person firing one shot and running out of there,” said Tim Ciesco, a spokesperson for the Arlington Police Department, in November of 2024. “It was clear that this individual had the intention of causing harm and death to other people. Therefore, it is without a doubt that we are going to make every effort to identify the individual or individuals in question and successfully apprehend them.

Following the shooting, witnesses stated that they saw a group of individuals escape the apartment and drive away immediately after the incident.

The community’s response to the tragedy

A longtime resident of the complex described the neighborhood as being generally secure and quiet.

“It has always been a comfortable environment, it has always been a safe environment, and it has always been a calm, steady pace as far as people,” said a resident named Luis Noyola in November of last year. They never fail to be pleasant and affable. The occurrence of such a distressing occurrence is completely unexpected and appears to be completely random.
